Add a Store Login

Melody Jaimon • September 1, 2022

The eCommerce login feature enables site users to create a store account and sign in on subsequent visits. Moreover, site owners may control these visitors and provide them with exclusive promos. This is useful if you wish to track customer activity or reward loyal customers.

For Stores opened after July 26, 2021, the login page will be referred to as Account Page.

For Stores created prior to July 26, 2021, the login page is referred to as Store Login.

Add Login Button

There are no registration or login widgets for StoreFront. You may instead connect any text, button, or image widget to the store's login page.

We recommend using neutral wording on the button, such as "My Account," rather than "Customer Login," as the content does not alter whether the user is signed in.

To add a store login to a button, do the following:

  1. Create a button for your store's login page.
  2. To access the Content editor, click the button and then select Store link.
  3. For the Store link, select Account page or Store Login.

Login Page

The login page (called the Account Page on newer Stores) is established by default, and it allows your users to enter their email address and get a link to sign into the store by email. The login link is only valid for 14 days and can only be used once.

Customer Account Home

Customers can update account settings, view order history, and manage address information after logging in. Note that customers cannot modify their address before making a purchase, since the Store does not register the customer's address until after a transaction has been completed.

Manage Customer Accounts

In the StoreFront control panel, you can view customers accounts. Click the My Sales button, and then Customers tab, to get a list of customers. This screen allows you to export client information to an a.csv file.
