Video Backgrounds

Melody Jaimon • December 6, 2022

Use Video Backgrounds to add a YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion video as a site background instantly. Video backdrops may attract a visitor's attention with moving material and give a website a fashionable, contemporary appearance.

Any file (text, image, video, etc.) posted to the system is accessible to the public. No sensitive or private information should be posted. To permanently remove the file, delete it from the selection.

Before loading, YouTube background videos always display the video's title and uploader. There is no way to delete these elements without modifying the CSS manually. Due to this change, background YouTube videos are no longer recommended.

  1. To add a video backdrop to your website, you must get the YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion URL.
  2. To add this backdrop to a row or column, right-click the row or column and then choose Edit Design.
  3. Select the Video option. You have the subsequent options:

  • Select the desired video by clicking Upload Video and selecting it from the menu that appears. You can upload up to 200MB in any supported format. You may upload videos from your smartphone, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, and Google Drive, as well as capture videos with your camera.
  • This feature is currently in development and will be rolled out to all clients gradually.
  • Copy the video's URL and paste it into the YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion URL textbox.

Considerations

  • YouTube videos are not supported on iOS mobile devices since they do not auto-play.
  • Videos in the background do not play sound.
  • Videos may be time-consuming and bandwidth-intensive to load, and they can divert readers' attention away from vital links and information on your website, so use them carefully.
  • Consider reducing the video background's opacity to make the effect more subtle.
  • When uploading a Dailymotion video that is part of a playlist, merely include the direct URL to the video (and omit the playlist parameter, which looks like this:?playlist=x1x2f3). If the URL of your video contains this parameter, just delete it. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x60ktex?playlist=x5x6f2 is one example: would be dailymotion.com/video/x60ktex.
