Custom Product Fields

Custom fields are used to show additional information about a product, such as instructions or warranty information, on its product page. To use custom fields, you must first build a custom field in the product catalogue, then add a widget to the product page where you want the custom field information to be displayed, and then link the widget to the custom field in the product catalogue.
Create Custom Field
To create a custom field, follow these steps:
- Click eCommerce on the side panel.
- Then, under Store Management, select Manage Product.
- Click pen the chosen product.
- Click the +Add custom field in the Custom fields section.
- Type a title. This field cannot be identical to another field, such as the product name or description.
- To select the field type, use the Content Type drop-down option. Text is currently the only field type available. In the future, we want to introduce additional field types.
- Click Add.
- In the newly created custom field, add content.
- Click Save.
Once a custom field is created for one product, it is added to the product catalogue for all goods. The custom field will only appear on product pages if a value has been provided to it for that particular product.
Connect Custom Field to Widget
To specify where you want the content from your custom text field to appear, add a text widget to the product page. The widget that is added must match the custom field’s content type. If you add a text field, for example, you must also add a text widget. After you’ve added the widget, you’ll need to link it to the custom field you defined.
To connect a custom field to a widget:
- Click eCommerce on the side panel, then click Store Pages.
- Go to the Product Page.
- Click Widgets on the side panel.
- Drag and drop the widget into your product page.
- Connect to data may be accessed by right-clicking the widget.
- Select the previously created custom field from the drop-down menu.
- Click Done.
