Product Gallery Widget for Native Store

Melody Jaimon • February 9, 2023

The content is only applicable to the native store.

The Product Gallery widget in the native store provides different filtering functionality depending on whether it is used on a normal or dynamic store page.

Dynamic Store Page

When you add the Product Gallery widget to a dynamic store page, such as the category page, the following options appear on the Product Gallery widget’s Content tab:

  • Show different content per category. The content of the gallery is dynamically updated based on the category page the gallery is on. If this option is used, the gallery can either show products or subcategories.
  • Show the same content on every page. The content in the gallery is the same regardless of the category page the gallery is on. If this option is chosen, the gallery will display all the products, all categories, or a specific category.

Regular Pages

If you add the Product Gallery widget to a regular page, such as the Shop homepage, the following choices appear on the Product Gallery widget’s Content tab:

What should be displayed in the gallery?

In the gallery, you can display all products, categories or particular categories in the gallery.

Display on the gallery. This drop-down option appears only if you choose a category from the What should be displayed in the gallery drop-down menu. Products or subcategories can be displayed.

Product Gallery Widget Toggles

There are many toggles at the bottom of the Content tab on the Product Gallery Widget that controls what information is shown in the gallery. Their availability is determined by what you have chosen to display in the gallery. When placed on a standard  or dynamic page, the following choices are available:

  • Show title. This toggle is always accessible, regardless of what is chosen to show in the gallery. Depending on what is displayed, it will change to show category, subcategory, or product names.
  • Show price. This option is only accessible whether you want to show all items or products in a certain category. This toggle is not applicable when categories or subcategories are displayed in the gallery.
  • Show SKU. This option is only accessible whether you want to show all items or products in a certain category. When categories or subcategories are displayed in the gallery, this option is inactive.
  • Show an additional image. This is only accessible whether you want to showcase all products or products within a specific category. When categories or subcategories are shown in the gallery, this option is inactive.

Limitations

The current Product Gallery widget limits are as follows:

  • The ability to Add a Buy button to a product in the gallery that adds it to your cart. Currently clicking on a product in the gallery redirects to the corresponding product page.
  • Within the Product Gallery, you can add an On Sale or Out of Stock label to the product gallery.
  • You cannot display the SKU, title or price of single products while the widget displays categories such labels are not relevant to categories.

Submit a suggestion to our Idea Board if you believe an additional feature would be useful for the Product Gallery widget.
