Local Business Schema

Melody Jaimon • December 6, 2022

Schema.org assists robots and crawlers in understanding information about a website, business, people, or web page content. By filling in the content library of a site you are developing, Website Builder has made it simple to add Local Business Schema. Website Builder ensures that you provide enough data of the proper kind to accurately match the schema. This is necessary to ensure that the schema is recognised by Google and other search engines that depend on the schema.

In addition to the logo and business name, all of the information from the business details screen from the initial location will be used. In addition, the About Us paragraph and the first five images from the business images page will be used if they exist.

Supported Fields

The table below is the complete list of compatible fields. There are required and suggested fields here. Without the necessary fields, a schema can't be generated. To develop a more precise schema, it is advisable to incorporate as many fields as possible.

Generate Local Business Schema

To generate local business schema:

  1. In the editor's side panel, select Content and then Business Info.
  2. Include as much information as can on the Business Info page, including the About Us text and Business Images.
  3. Select Review and Enable Schema.
  4. Review your data, then click the Enable Schema button.

Once the schema has been generated, your website must be published for it to take effect.

Validate Schema

Click the Validate with Google link on the Schema box to check that your schema is valid. Alternately, you can confirm the site URL using Google's Rich Results tool once the site has been launched.
