Product Options

Melody Jaimon • July 11, 2022

If you sell products with several options (for example, colour and size), you may list them as a single base product with various options.

You can also:

  • offer extras (for example, gift wrapping)
  • request buyers to upload a file for an ordered product or service
  • offer variety of options to configure the final product

Create Options

To create product options:

  1. Select eCommerce and then Manage Store from the left panel.
  2. Then select Products from the Catalogue.
  3. To add options to a product, first select it and then select the Options tab.
  4. Select +Add New Option from the drop-down menu.
  5. The option's name should be entered here (for example, Size).
  6. From the drop-down menu, select an input type.
  7. Add a name and a price to the choice by clicking +Add New Selection.
  8. Product options can raise or lower the product’s price, but they don't have their own quantity of SKU. Use Product Variations to keep track of the stock of product options.
  9. Choose the value of the option that will be used by default. If the option needs a choice from the customer, choose Don't set the default value.
  10. Click Save.

Input Types

The following input types are available:

  • Drop-down List. Allows the selection of a single value from several options. This is recommended when a small list has several options.
  • Radio Buttons. Allow the selection of a single value from several options, such as colors.
  • Size. Allows the selection of one alternative from numerous available sizes.
  • Checkboxes. Select several choices simultaneously (for example, pizza toppings).
  • Text Area and Text Field. Customers are able to enter any wording for a product. This is frequently used for customization, including engraving and custom printing.
  • Date Picker. Choose a date for the product or service from a calendar that appears.
  • Upload Files. Attach files to the service or product.

Enable Options in Store

After creating product options in the Store Control Panel, the feature must be enabled in the store's main widget.

  1. Open the Design Editor by clicking the Main Store widget on your site.
  2. Click Single Product Page followed by More Design Options.
  3. Enable the toggle for Product Options.
