Remove Free Demo Store

Melody Jaimon • June 30, 2022

When republishing a website with a free demo store, you have the option of upgrading or removing it.

You can also republish without uninstalling or upgrading the Demo store, but it does not support checkout.

To remove the demo store:

  1. Click Republish in the top navigation bar of the editor.
  2. Click the Yes, remove store button.
  3. When you remove the Demo store, the main store widget is deleted along with any content added. After removing the Demo store, you must ensure the following:
  4. On your website, delete the store page.
  5. Always remove all of the store widgets (search, cart).
  6. To view the changes made, republish the site.
  7. You can also choose from the following options after you click Republish:
  8. Publish with a free store. Publish the site, including the demo store. This does not include a cart, therefore visitors are unable to make purchases from the store.
  9. Upgrade store. Choose the type of store from the drop-down menu and then click Upgrade your store.

After removing the store from your site, you must manually delete any store widgets

There is no method to undo the removal of the demo store, including backup and restore. If necessary, you can create a new demo store.

To remove the demo store without republishing your site, follow these steps:

  • Tap eCommerce on the side panel.
  • Click the three dots (...) at the top, and then click Remove Store.
  • Select Remove Store as confirmation. After removing the demo store from your site, you must also remove the following widgets:
  • Product Gallery
  • Shopping Cart
  • Store Search
