I Love You Google: 9 Reasons Why Google is Awesome

Melody Jaimon • Apr 05, 2022

I would be a fool if I said that life would be better without Google. The company has developed some of the best and most useful tools to have ever existed, including a search engine, an email service, a mapping and navigation service, a video streaming platform, and more. That’s why I believe that Google is the best thing to happen to our generation, and that’s why I can confidently say I love you Google. Because without Google’s tools, life would become even more complicated.

In the age of information, it’s hard to imagine living without Google. But what if we had to? I know this is an odd thought exercise, but please bear with me as I try to paint a bleak picture of what a world without Google would look like.

What if Google Never Existed?

So what would life be like without Google?

Well, for starters, we wouldn’t have the convenience of being able to access reliable information about anything in the world from the comfort of our phone or computer. Yes, there are other search engines. But their results aren’t as refined as Google Search.

We’d also have to find other ways to entertain ourselves since Google has a large share of the online entertainment market. Do you know YouTube? Yeah, Google owns that too.

We’d also be deprived of the extremely useful information offered by Google Maps, and the language translations provided by Google Translate.

And then there are the business implications. Small businesses would have a harder time getting their names out there without being able to advertise on Google.

And if you’re a business owner trying to improve your website’s performance, you might have a harder time doing it without using Google’s many tools for web analytics.

Now that we have given you a glimpse of what a world without Google would look like, it’s time for us to tell you why Google is important and beneficial for all of us. Here are 9 reasons why we believe that Google is the best thing to have ever happened to our generation:

9 Reasons Why Google is the Best Thing to Happen to Our Generation

Google Search

Google Search has been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember. It is the first thing we turn to when we need information, and it never fails to deliver. But how does Google Search work, and what makes it so special?

Google Search is based on a very simple principle: the more people who use it, the better it becomes. The engine uses artificial intelligence (AI) to learn from the data it collects, so the more you use Google Search, the smarter it gets. This also means that Google Search is constantly evolving, becoming faster and more accurate with each new search.

Google Search

But what sets Google Search apart from other search engines is its comprehensive index of websites. Google has been collecting website data since 1998, and its index now includes over trillions of web pages. No other search engine comes close to this level of coverage.

Google’s accuracy is also due to its unique PageRank algorithm. This algorithm ranks websites based on the number and quality of links they receive from other websites. This means that the best websites always rank highest in Google Search results.

So why is Google Search so popular? The answer is simple: it’s fast, accurate, and comprehensive. Plus, it keeps getting better with each new update. If you need information, Google Search is the place to find it.

Gmail

There are a lot of email providers out there. But when it comes to Gmail, there’s no doubt that it’s the top dog. Gmail is the best for a whole bunch of reasons. Above all, it is fast and easy to use. You can access your email from any device, anywhere in the world, and it’s always up-to-date. Plus, Gmail has tons of great features that make managing your email a breeze. For example, Gmail’s filters let you automatically sort your messages into different folders based on criteria such as sender, recipient, subject or keywords. This makes it easy to find the messages you need when you need them. For these reasons, Gmail is the obvious choice for those who are looking for a fast, easy to use and powerful email solution.

Google Analytics

Have you ever had a tool that you thought was irreplaceable because of the value it added to your life? Well, for me, that tool is Google Analytics.

As a digital marketer, I am deeply entrenched in Google Analytics. It's the most popular analytics platform by far, and for good reason. With its wealth of features and data, it's a powerful tool for understanding how your website is performing and for figuring out what’s working and what isn’t working.

Google Analytics is a free web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. It provides detailed statistics about the visitors to your website, such as how they found your site, how long they stayed, which pages they visited, and so on. If you’re running a Google Adwords campaign and would like to get maximum ROI, Google Analytics is the best tool to pair with your Google Ads.

Google Analytics has helped me to understand so much about my website’s traffic and how people interact with my content. For example, I can see which blog posts are the most popular, as well as where my website visitors are coming from geographically. This valuable data helps me to make informed decisions about what content to create and how to promote it.

Google Analytics has also given me insights into how people are finding my website, as well as what they do when they get there. We use this information to improve your website’s performance by understanding user trends, identifying areas for improvement, and so on.

We also use Google Analytics along with the
Google Adwords campaigns we run for our clients because when linked together, the two form a powerful pairing that helps us gain a deeper understanding of customer activity. It gives insights that enable us to measure the success of a campaign and make any adjustments necessary to ensure our clients get maximum ROI.

Overall, Google Analytics is an essential tool for any digital marketer who wants to improve their website’s performance. It has been extremely helpful to my digital marketing agency, but it can also be impactful for small businesses that are looking to grow and succeed online.

Google Maps

Google Maps has been around since 2005, and in that time it’s become one of the most indispensable parts of the internet. Whether you’re looking for directions to your next destination or trying to find out what businesses are nearby, Google Maps is always there to help.

But Google Maps isn’t just a handy tool – it’s also a lot of fun. You can use it to explore new places or revisit old ones that you’ve forgotten about. One of the favourite things I love to do with Google Maps is finding hidden gems that I haven’t seen before, including beautiful places around my area that I didn’t even know existed. Sometimes I check out these hidden gems on street view just so I know what it looks like from the street level.

My partner and I also use Google Maps to look for ideas for our family holidays. We just type in the name of the city we want to visit and then check out the map to get a better feel of the area and see all the pins marking all the places we can visit.

And of course, arguably the best thing about Google Maps is that it helps us navigate our way around unfamiliar places.

YouTube

YouTube is the best place to watch videos. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I love Netflix and Amazon Prime as much as the next person, but when it comes to streaming video content, nothing beats YouTube. In fact, YouTube is growing at such a rapid rate that its quarterly revenue is nearly at the same level as the streaming juggernaut that is Netflix.

If you ask me, the most obvious reason is that YouTube has a much larger selection of videos. With Netflix and Amazon Prime, you're limited to just the movies and TV shows they have in their library. With YouTube, on the other hand, you can watch any video that's been uploaded to the site (unless it's been blocked for copyright reasons).

YouTube is also much simpler and easier to use. Netflix and Amazon Prime both have a fairly complex interface, which can be overwhelming for beginners. The same can’t be said for YouTube, whose interface is so user friendly that even a 2-year-old can navigate his way around the platform to binge his favourite Bounce Patrol videos on his own.

Moreover, YouTube has more features. Netflix and Amazon Prime both are quite limited in this aspect, whereas YouTube has a variety of different features (such as comments, likes, and shares) that make it a more interactive experience.

Google Chrome

There’s a reason why Chrome has become the most popular web browser in the world. Just like any other popular Google product, it’s fast, efficient, and secure. There may be a lot of browsers out there. But, in my opinion, the best one is Google Chrome in terms of performance and reliability.

For starters, Google Chrome is really fast. It loads pages quickly and doesn’t hang or freeze up as often as some other browsers do. Chrome is also easy to use. The interface is simple and straightforward, making it perfect for anyone who wants an easy browsing experience.

Another reason I like Google Chrome is that it’s so customisable. You can change the look and feel of it to match your own personal style, and you can even add extensions to make it even more useful.

Finally, Google Chrome is safe and secure. It has built-in security features that help keep you safe online, and it’s updated regularly with the latest security patches.

Google Drive

Google Drive is a great way to store your files. You can access them from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection, and you can share them with other people with ease. Plus, it's free and it's really easy to use. Just create a Google account, and then go to the Google Drive website (if you’re on a desktop) or download the Google Drive app (if you’re on mobile). You can start using Google Drive right away!

There are many different ways to use Google Drive. You can store photos, videos, documents, and more. You can also create folders and share your files with others.

Google Drive is a great way to keep your data safe. Your files are automatically backed up, so you don't have to worry about losing them. You can also password-protect your files if you want extra security.

Google Drive is also a great way to stay organised. You can create different folders for different projects, and share specific folders with other people. This can be helpful when you're working on a team project.

Moreover, Google Drive is very useful for students. Notes, homework assignments, presentations and other important school documents can be stored in Google Drive safely. This will make it easy to access them from any device with an internet connection.

Google Translate

If you’ve been to a foreign country that does not speak English primarily, then you probably already know how much of a lifesaver Google Translate is.

Google Translate is a translation tool that helps users communicate with people from other countries. It can translate text, websites, and conversations. Google Translate is available in over 100 languages and uses a machine-learning algorithm to improve translations over time.

One of the best things about Google Translate is that it’s always getting better. The
machine learning algorithm it uses helps it to learn how to translate new languages and phrases as they come up. This means that translations are constantly getting more accurate.

Google Translate is perfect for travellers. If you’re going to a foreign country, you can use it to translate street signs, menus, and other text into your own language. You can also use it to have conversations with people who don’t speak your mother tongue.

The best thing about Google Translate is that it’s free to use. You can download it on both Android and iOS devices. So, next time you’re travelling or need to communicate with someone from a foreign country, be sure to download Google Translate! I swear, it will come in handy.

Google Assistant

Google Assistant is a voice assistant created by Google. It can do a wide range of tasks, such as sending text messages, setting alarms, making shopping lists, and playing music. You can also use it to control smart devices in your home, such as lights, outlets, switches, and thermostats. Using it is a great way to keep your life organised.

One of the best things about Google Assistant is that it's always getting smarter, just like Google Translate. The more you use it, the more personalised your experience will be. For example, if you ask for the weather forecast, Google Assistant will remember your favourite weather app and start opening that automatically whenever you ask for the forecast.

Google Assistant

If you're not sure how to do something with Google Assistant,  you can type "help" into the chatbox and then Google Assistant will show you a list of all the things you can do with it, as well as how to do them. You can also ask for suggestions on what you could do with Google Assistant. For example, you could ask "What are some things I can do with Google Assistant?" and it would share with you heaps of ideas.

If you have any questions or need help with something, Google Assistant is always there to assist you. Plus, you can use it to create reminders, set alarms, and even make shopping lists. So why not give it a try? It's free and easy to use!

Takeaway

Google has given us so many useful tools and services over the years that it’s hard to imagine living without them. We would have to search through countless websites to find information, navigate using paper maps, have a hard time communicating with people who don’t speak our language, and more if we didn’t have Google. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about that because Google is here to stay.
