Navigation and Sub-Navigation Links

Melody Jaimon • January 13, 2023

Add the Navigation Links widget to your site to generate an all-inclusive navigation menu with links to all of your site's pages, or create your own menu with only the most useful links. A well-structured navigation system guides your site visitors and assists them in quickly finding the information they seek.

To include the widget:

  1. Click Widgets in the left panel.
  2. Drag the Navigation Links widget into your website.

See
Add Widgets for more information on how to add widgets to your site.

Navigation can have up to three levels.

See the following video to learn more about the navigation menu and sub-pages:

Content Editor

To contact the content editor, follow these steps:

  1. Click Edit Content by right-clicking it. Choose one of the following:
  2. Site pages. Fill the navigation links' content with site pages, navigation folders, and anchors. This menu will be generated automatically based on the pages of the website. This is a quick method for adding basic navigation to your website. Go to Pages to edit the pages on your site.
  3. Custom links. Create your own menu with customised links. This option gives you flexibility when it comes to adding inner page navigation, footer navigation with only the most useful links, a social accounts menu, and more.
  4. If you choose to create navigation with Custom links, the editor will prompt you to add custom elements to the list of links. Add folders and items to link to external, internal, and anchor pages.

Design Editor

To gain access to the design editor, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the widget and select Edit Design.
  2. The following options are available on the Layout tab:
  3. For navigation, choose an Orientation.
  4. To choose a layout for your site navigation, click the navigation layout button.
  5. To select a layout for the sub-pages in your navigation, click the sub-navigation layout button.
  6. Click All pages on the Pages tab. Here are the following options:
  7. Link Style. Configure the background colour, item spacing, navigation item direction, and divider style.
When you enable the Quick Navigation option, the header and footer are not reloaded when you switch between pages.
  8. Link Text. Set the font for the link text.
  9. Click Selected Page & Hover on the Pages tab. Here are the following options:
  10. Effect. Choose a display effect for the selected page. Some effects come with additional customizations.
  11. Link Text. Change the font for the link text.
  12. You can change the style of the sub-navigation on the Subpages tab:
  13. Link Style. Configure the background colour, shadow, item spacing, and divider.
  14. Link Text.  Set the font for the link text.

Refer to Widget Design for information on design options that are not specific to this widget (such as layout, style, and spacing).
