Shipping FAQs

Will Website Builder ship my products directly to my customers?

No, Store does not provide shipping services. The store provides a shopping cart platform that is equipped with all necessary tools: to specify different shipping methods/companies in your online store or to use standard carrier shipping rates for companies such as UPS and FedEx - to make it easier for you to integrate these shipping methods into your online store. However, it is your responsibility to physically ship the items to the customer using the shipping options you have configured for your business.

Can I provide an in-store pickup option?

To give free pickup as a checkout option to your customers:

  1. Select Shipping & Pickup from inside the Store Control Panel. To specify the pickup option, click the Add Pickup button.
  2. Configure the subsequent:
  3. Customers' instructions are exhaustive.
  4. Pickup fees.
  5. Request the day and time of pickup during checkout. Enable the option for customers to select a pick up time, and specify your business hours to limit the available pickup times.
  6. Select Add Pickup Option.

How do I set up three shipping methods, one for free store pickup, one for cheap shipping of small items, and one for large items?

For this configuration, the following steps are required:

  1. Create two destination zones, one for local pickup and the other for standard shipping.
  2. Select Shipping & Pickup inside the Store Control Panel.

Add two shipping methods:

  1. Local pick-up shipping method, for zone local pick-up. Flat rate, shipping rate 0.00 is the type of calculation.
  2. A method of shipping for the second zone with these settings:
  3. Choose how you calculate shipping costs. Make a table.
  4. Table based on → Weight
  5. Rate based on → Range only
  6. Set shipping rates → 2 rows:
  7. Weight range: 0 -2 Per order: $X
  8. Weight range: 2.01 - xxx Per order: $
  9. Make sure that all of your items are the right weight.

Can I tell the customer which payment methods they can use based on how they want their order shipped or delivered?

Within the same order, a buyer selected multiple shipping methods. So, what happens?

When two distinct delivery methods are selected inside a single purchase, the store will determine if both goods can be shipped using a single shipping option. When no delivery option is available for both products at the same time, the store proposes dividing the order in two.

How do I charge $2.75 for 250 lbs, $3.25 for 500 lbs, $4.00 for 750 lbs, and so on?

Go to System Settings > Shipping and click on the "New shipping method" button to make the method you need.

You should set up a shipping method with these options:

  • Select how you calculate shipping? → Custom table
  • Table based on → Weight
  • Rate based on → Range only
  • Set shipping rates → 3 rows:
  • Weight range: 0 -250 Per order: 2.75
  • Weight range: 250.01 -500 Per order: 3.25
  • Weight range: 500.01 - 700 Per order: 4.00

After configuring shipping freight for each product, I must now alter shipping freight to "Use global settings" across the board. How can I make this modification to all products at once?

Using the product import/export tool, it is possible to adjust shipping costs for all goods at once. Please refer to the directions in this article: How can I update my products in bulk.

How can I enable free delivery on all orders above $100?

The Custom Table shipment type should be used. To add a shipping method, navigate to System Settings Shipping in the administration panel. Provide the following shipping instruction:

  • Select how you calculate shipping? → Custom table
  • Table based on → Subtotal
  • Rate based on → Range only
  • Set shipping rates → 2 rows:
  • Subtotal range: 0 - 99.99 Per order: X
  • Subtotal range: 100 - and up Per order: 0.00

This rule will apply a $X delivery fee to purchases under $100, while orders over $100 will receive free shipping.

I only deliver to one country. How can I limit shipping to other locations?

If you wish to ship to a certain country/region/area, you must restrict shipping to all other locations, so that your delivery methods will only function for this region. This is the proper method.

First and foremost, you must define a destination zone for the location to which you will ship. This will restrict the coverage area. Then, for this destination zone, configure the shipping method and shipping rates. Only customers whose shipping address is within the destination zone will be able to proceed to the checkout in this case. Otherwise The message "Sorry, we do not ship to this location" will be displayed, and the customer won’t be able to place an order.

Suppose you wish to configure shipping solely for Australia:

  1. Create destination zone.
  2. Navigate to the Control Panel > Shipping & pickup section.
  3. Select the delivery method for which you wish to create a zone.
  4. Scroll down to Shipping Region, then click Zone on Map after selecting Zone on Map.
  5. On the map, a polygon will be visible. use the polygon's drag handles to resize the delivery zone for this shipping or delivery method.
  6. Select Save and Finish.
  7. Specify the restricted shipping methods for this zone.
  8. Navigate to the Control Panel > Shipping > New Shipping method.
  9. Select the calculation technique and tailor it to your needs before naming it.

To learn more, see Add Delivery Zones.

Or you just ship to New York:

  1. Create a destination zone.
  2. Navigate to Control Panel > Settings > Zones.
  3. Press the New Zone button.
  4. Enter the Shipping Zone's name (for example, New York City).
  5. Select the Add Country option and select the United States from the list that appears.
  6. Select Add States in the right column and enter New York.
  7. Define New York City Zip/Postal Codes to limit the shipment area.
  8. To complete the construction of a shipping zone, click Save.
  9. Specify the restricted shipping methods for this zone.
  10. Go to Settings > Shipping > New Shipping method in the Control Panel.
  11. Select the New York City zone generated in the preceding step from the list of zones.
  12. Select the calculation technique and tailor it to your needs before naming it.

Once you've set shipping methods tied to a certain destination zone, only clients from that region will be able to submit orders.

Can the order of delivery methods be changed?

Yes, you can determine the order in which delivery options are displayed to your clients. Navigate to System Settings >  Shipping in the Store Control Panel, select the Sort button, and adjust the sorting by dragging and dropping the products. Click Save to store your modifications.

How can a tracking number be assigned to an order?

To assign an order tracking number:

  1. Click My Sales on the Store Control Panel, then click Orders.
  2. Find the order to which the tracking number should be assigned.
  3. Click Update Order.
  4. Choose Mark as Shipped.
  5. Provide the Tracking Number.
  6. Select Mark as Shipped.

Can I purchase and print shipping labels directly from the Store Control Panel?

Yes, to learn how, check Buy and Print Shipping Labels.

Troubleshooting

I've configured my delivery methods, but neither the shipment address nor the shipping charges are displayed.

Most likely, you have not indicated that your items require shipment, thus the store treats them as intangible. At checkout, the shipment address and shipping method for intangible objects are not required. Consequently, the buyer is not charged for shipment, and the order does not include any shipping fees.

To resolve this issue, check the “This product requires shipping” checkbox for all products that require shipping. To do so, sign in to your control panel, navigate to the Catalogue and then Products and then to the product editor page, and make sure the checkbox “This product requires shipping” is checked.

To apply this change to multiple products at once, use the product import feature to perform a bulk update: create an import that assigns weight values (any values, even zero weight) to the SKUs of the products that require shipping.

My real-time shipping prices are inaccurate. They are larger/smaller than expected.

How come I get a checkout error stating, "Sorry, we do not ship to this location"?

The error indicates that the buyer's shipping address is not in the list of zones to which your store ships. The solution is dependent on the shipping method you use.

For user-defined shipping

Ensure that you have configured your Zones correctly. Please refer to this article for information about Zones configuration:

Destination zones

For carrier-calculated transport methods

In the case of carrier calculated rates (such as UPS, USPS, and so on), the carrier defines the exact shipping zone for each method. When the Website Builder displays the shipping rates, it has already connected to the carrier's website to get the shipping rates. Your control panel must have the correct details of your account registered as the carrier site for a successful connection.

The following first troubleshooting procedures are recommended:

  1. Ensure that shipping zones are configured appropriately.
  2. Verify that the carrier account credentials you provided in the control panel are accurate. To do so, navigate to Settings > Shipping  > Carrier-Calculated > Account Details. Contact the carrier's support team to request these credentials.
  3. Test the method using the Account Details window: click the Test method button and check for mistakes. Typically, account data are incorrect or your carrier account is in test mode, which prevents you from accessing live pricing.
  4. In Account Details, you can also pick the operating mode of your merchant account: Use negotiated rates and use test server. You must check that your account is in the specified mode.
  5. Ensure that the shipping providers that offer delivery to your target zones are enabled. For example, you want to ship from the United States to Canada using UPS Ground, which does not deliver to Canada. Consequently, Canadian customers will receive the warning, “Sorry we do not ship to this location”.

You should activate the shipping methods that service your target zones' regions: In the administration panel, choose Settings and then Shipping and to the Carrier-calculated link.

I need a shipper that is not listed. What am I to do?

We'll consider adding this shipping carrier. Click Help in the lower right corner to contact Support.

You can manually configure a method emulating the carrier's rates using the control panel, System Settings and then go to Shipping. To add the methods, follow the steps mentioned above.

PayPal Express Checkout displays no shipping information whatsoever.

The exact shipping cost is calculated only after the Store has received the customer's shipping address.

PayPal Express Checkout is more than just a payment method; it significantly changes the checkout process by retaining a few initial checkout steps on their sites. As a result, when a customer navigates from your site to PayPal Express Checkout, the store is unable to calculate shipping costs because no shipping address has yet been provided. Only after the first steps at PayPal Express Checkout will it be known.

When a customer returns to your store to confirm order details and place an order, the store will display all shipping methods that correspond to the customer's shipping address.

Destination zone set up for the United Kingdom

There is a distinctive characteristic of UK destination zones:

  • There is no standard, definitive list of countries used by online stores. We have received several requests from customers to update the county list, so we made the 'state' field for the UK country an input text field  so that customers can manually enter the county name. As a result, users may provide an incorrect address, which will not be covered by your destination zone.
  • A successful delivery in the United Kingdom requires only a postal code and an address. The county name is not necessary.

Because of the foregoing, we do not recommend using the exact UK counties in the zone setup. As a result, the following is a recommended solution for setting up UK zones:

  1. It must only contain the word "UK." If you included counties, you should remove them so that the list of regions is empty.
  2. (Optional) Modify postal codes for the UK zone if you want to differentiate shipping rates based on specific locations within the UK. Each zone has a section for Zip/Postal Codes. You can submit either a list of codes or masks (for example, 123***; an explanation follows this section). As a result, you should have a list of postal codes covering every location in the UK to which you want to ship. Customers must enter their postal code, and the store will calculate shipping rates based solely on these postal code
