A Guide to Creating Mobile-Friendly Social Media Cover Photos

Melody Jaimon • April 21, 2020

Facebook still stands as the biggest social network worldwide and I am sure it comes to no surprise that 98 percent of active user accounts worldwide accessed the social network via the mobile phone.

With nearly 60% of all searches on the internet done on mobile devices we know how important it is to have a mobile responsive website but are your social media cover photos mobile friendly?

The cover image of your social media profile is the first thing a visitor will see and is your chance to make a great impression.

Below is a solution to not only make that great impression but also give you the tools to make sure each cover photo is optimised for mobile.

1. Graphic Design Tool

You don't have to have a graphic design team or be a graphic designer to create amazing cover photos. Canva is my go-to tool. It's just $9.95 a month and it gives me access to all the premium images and tools. At this price point, it is costed to suit businesses of all sizes.

2. Choose the cover photo below that you would like to create, download then upload.

Upload the image sizing and follow the guides, keep text within the inner guides to be mobile friendly. You can choose from loads of premium images in Canva or a template but keep in mind cover photos should be easily recognisable for your customers so it is important to keep your branding consistent, from your website to the social media covers.
