Image Slider Widget

Melody Jaimon • January 17, 2023

Add an image slider widget to your site to display a series of images in a row or column one after the other. You can make a slideshow out of multiple images. Instead of cluttering your rows and columns with multiple image widgets, use a single image slider widget.

Organizing all of your photos into a single widget is convenient and saves a lot of space. However, in some cases, a single image is required. For example, you might need a paragraph to explain why a single image in the image slider cannot be included in a group of images. Image Widget contains more information about the image widget.

To include the image slider widget, follow these steps:

  1. Click Widgets in the left panel.
  2. Drag the widget into your site with your mouse.

See Add Widgets for more information on adding widgets to your site.

Content Editor

Right-click the widget and select Edit Content to open the content editor.

Add Images

Click Add Image or any blank image spot to add an image to the slider. This brings up the image picker. You can choose from the following options:

  • Choose the folder containing the images you want to use.
  • To upload your own image, click the + icon.
  • Click Full View to see more image selection options.

Remove Images

To delete an image thumbnail, click the gray X in the top right corner of the Content Editor.

Image Settings

To open the Image Settings, click an existing image in the content editor.

Edit and Replace Images

  • Click Replace to open the image picker and choose a different image.
  • Click Edit to open the built-in image editor and add features and styles to an image.

In the Image Settings, you have the following additional options:

  • Add Link to Slide.  Makes the entire image into a linkable button.
  • Slider Title. This function adds large text to the slider image.
  • Slider Caption. Smaller text is added to the slider image below the title text. Color, emphasis (bold, italics, and underline), and bullets can be added to text in the caption box using the text editor.
  • Button. Adds a button to the slider image that can be linked in the same way that a button widget can.
  • Alternate Text. Displays alternate text for SEO purposes or when the image cannot be displayed.

Design Editor

Right-click the widget and select Edit Design to open the design editor.

Transition

Scroll to transition in the design editor and configure the following:

  • Slider transition.  Choose between Fade and Slide.
  • Autoplay.
  • Slideshow speed. Select a speed between 1 and 20 seconds using the slider.
  • On hover, click Pause Slideshow.
  • Content animation.  Choose an animation from the drop-down menu.

Display Full Images

Images added to the image slider will not be displayed in their original dimensions. Because these images are displayed to fill the image slider dimensions, they may appear stretched or blurry. To view images in their original dimensions, go to the design editor, click Frame, and then toggle the Display full image toggle.

Widget Design contains information about design options that are not specific to this widget (for example, layout, style, or spacing).
