Image Widget

Melody Jaimon • January 13, 2023

Insert an image into your site using the image widget. You can make images into buttons that navigate to other pages or sites, download files, or activate popups. Images are an excellent way to decorate websites, display products or storefronts, and provide an additional means of communication with visitors.

The image file types listed below are supported:

  • png
  • jpg
  • jpeg
  • gif
  • svg
  • svg+xml
  • ico
  • x-icon
  • webp

Reminder:

  • Each website can have up to 15,000 images. An error message is displayed when more images are added.
  • There should be no spaces or special characters in image files.

Reminder:

  • When uploading photos for use on your website, make sure to obtain permission from photographers, businesses, and other third parties.
  • Using the image widget has no effect on the background image. Rather, it inserts a picture into a row or column. See Customise Background for instructions on how to add a background image.

To include the image widget, follow these steps:

  1. Click Widgets in the left panel.
  2. Drag the widget into your site with your mouse.

See Add Widgets for more information on adding widgets to your site.

Content Editor

Right-click the widget and select Edit Content to open the content editor.

  1. To add an image, click the + Image button. Select Replace to choose a different image.
  2. Choose from the gallery's existing stock photos or click +Upload to add your own. Click Full View to see more image selection options. See Image Picker for more information. You can choose from the following options:
  3. Edit. Using the Photo Editor, you can change the properties of an image.
  4. Link Image. Images can be used to link to other pages and URLs, as well as popups, anchors, email addresses, and downloadable files. A visitor will be directed to the link if they click on the image.
  5. Alt text. Allows search engines to identify image content. This text should be used to describe the image.
  6. Tooltip. When a visitor hovers over an image, text appears.
  7. Caption. Fill in the blanks with a caption for the image.

Image Size Guidelines contains information about the best image sizes.

Design Editor

Right-click the widget and select Edit Design to open the design editor.

Widget Design contains information about design options that are not specific to this widget (for example, layout, style, or spacing).

Global Images

You can also use the global image design to change the content and design of your image widgets. Changing global elements updates the design of all image widgets. Any changes made to specific image widgets will be saved.
